Land Protection Update: We're working on 5 new easements protecting close to 2,000 acres

These new easements are in Kershaw, Calhoun, Orangeburg and Fairfield counties and include 1 mile of frontage on the Wateree River, a lot of significant wildlife habitats and a mature floodplain forest.  For more information about conservation easements, contact John Cely, CLT Land Protection Director.

 

Volunteer News:  Wine & Cheese Happy Hour was held in September at the USC Belser Arboretum

CLT volunteers have given dozens of hours this past year in a variety of roles including office work, easement monitoring, event assistance and more.  This effort is making a significant impact on our ability to increase productivity and organizational capacity.

Accreditation Update - At the September 2010 Board meeting, our Board of Directors adopted the updated and newly documented policies for each of the following areas:  
3-year Strategic Plan, Conflict of Interest Policy, Advocacy Policy, Whistle Blower Policy
Easement Enforcement Policy, Easement Amendment Policy and Records Policy
The Accreditation Committee is continuing the process of updating and documenting organizational policies procedures over the next few months and will soon submit our application for 2011 Accreditation.
