2009 LAND PROTECTION RESULTS
** 9 New Easements Totaling 5,300 Acres **
We now hold 80 easements in central South Carolina totaling more than 27,000 acres protected, making us one of the largest land trusts in the southeast.
The 2009 easements included longleaf pine forests in Williamsburg county, mature bottomland hardwood forests in Bamberg county, an historic millpond in Lee county, valuable farm and forest land in Clarendon county, and nearly 2,000 acres within the COWASEE Basin Focus Area in Richland county. |
We're up to 600 members!
Your response to our December appeal was terrific. We gained approximately
20 new memberships and another dozen renewals of people who had
previously lapsed. Thank you all for your support!
One of our highest priorities as an organization is building our membership base to help ensure our long term viability. You can help by giving gift memberships and suggesting prospective members to us. People who care about land conservation and would enjoy our outings and events are ideal memebers for the Congaree Land Trust.
YOU CAN HELP NOW: Forward this newsletter to friends, family and colleagues who would like to know about CLT.
