Dimucci Property Update
Throughout the Dimucci property development review process, numerous public calls have been made for the County and the Villages of Hawthorn Woods and North Barrington to meet and discuss the project. Prior to the villages making comments to the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA), the County and the villages have agreed to meet and discuss the project. Therefore we are requesting a postponement of Wednesday's scheduled ZBA hearing, until Wednesday, August 15.
The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet, as scheduled, on Wednesday, July 25 at 5 p.m. At the beginning of this meeting, the ZBA will consider the postponement request and take action. If the ZBA decides to grant the request for a postponement, no further business will be conducted and the meeting will be adjourned. If the ZBA decides to postpone the hearing, the County will provide notice of the new date and time through this email notification and on the website.

State Offers Tax Credits for Job Creation
The State of Illinois has renewed and expanded the Illinois Job Creation tax credit, providing a $2,500 credit to employers for newly created jobs. Small businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees or any business that hires a "Put Illinois to Work Program" worker-trainee are eligible. New businesses hiring their first Illinois employees also qualify for the credit. For program details and to register your business, visit https://jobstaxcredit.illinois.gov/Default.aspx.
Additionally, the Illinois Hiring Veterans tax credit has been expanded to encourage veterans' employment. The credit will now cover 20 percent of annual wages, up to $5,000 annually for businesses that hire returning veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. For more information on veteran employment benefits, visit the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs website.
Lake County employers can visit the Lake County Partners website to learn more about available tax credits.
