I need your help! Cuba Township (the Village of Barrington on the Lake County side of Lake Cook Road) becomes a part of District 19 in the near future. At the moment I don't have many email addresses for residents residing there so I'm asking that if you know someone who lives in Cuba Township, please forward this email to them and encourage them to join my email list. I'd like to keep them informed in the same manner as I do you. I'm sure they will thank you for providing this information which may allow them the opportunity to appeal their property assessment. The Ela Road project was to begin today (9/22) but I've just learned it has been delayed a few days due to material delivery issues. Please be advised it will get under way within the next couple of days so plan accordingly!

Word From the Chief County Assessment Office
|
The 2011 Cuba Township Assessment Roll will be published in the Barrington Courier Review on September 29, 2011. In addition, Assessment Notices for the township will be mailed by the end of next week.
Taxpayers have 30 days from the date of publication to file an appeal.
The Final Appeal Filing Date for Cuba Township will be: October 31,2011

For those of us that reside in Ela Township (which is the majority of District 19), word from our assessor is that we can expect our assessment notices sometime in November. We will still have 30 days to appeal our assessments from the date of publication. I will give you as much advance notice as I'm able once I receive notification from the Chief County Assessor. |

TAX ASSESSMENT HELP CENTERS |

FROM THE CHIEF COUNTY ASSESSMENT OFFICER
The Lake County Assessment Office is hosting EIGHTEEN Tax Assessment Help Centers. These help centers will give residents an opportunity to work one on one with a member of the Chief County Assessment Office staff for personal assistance with evaluating their property assessment.
They will also be holding 2 Public Information Meetings.The Chief County Assessment Officer will explain the property tax process, assessment procedures, provide use of county website tools used to review an assessment valuation, outline the assessment appeal process and answer property tax related questions from residential property owners.
