Road work continues to be the big story with many projects making our everyday travels frustrating. I keep reminding myself to be patient as "this too shall pass" and it'll hopefully be clear 'driving' once it's all completed. Please drive carefully and allow extra time. Don't forget to check Lake County Passage (link below) for up to the minute Lake County road conditions.
I wish you'd consider visiting your Lake County Forest Preserve website (links below) and ultimately the Forest Preserve locations themselves! There's so much you, your family, loved ones and friends can take advantage of in the preserves. They're always a beautiful, healthy place to visit and they're especially so this time of year! The programs and activities your Forest Preserve staff have planned for the fall months are entertaining and FUN for all! Plus, an added bonus for us seniors is FREE admittance to the Lake County Discovery Museum during the month of October! What better way to see the Ansel Adams photo exhibit which just opened there last weekend.
Please forward this e-newsletter to anyone you feel may benefit from its content. By helping me get the word out in this manner you're also helping me GO GREEN! Thank you!!

IDOT ROAD PROJECTS |
ROAD PROJECT UPDATE
According to a IDOT engineer, Midlothian Road resurfacing is expected to be completed by the middle to end of October.
Pavement patching on Rte. 83 from Buffalo Grove Rd. to Rte. 22 will take another week and the section from Rte. 22 to Rte. 45 will take 3 to 4 weeks.
The pavement patching project that is taking place on Rte. 21 is a state project being managed by the Illinois Department of Transportation. It is our understanding the project limits will be from IL Rte. 60 to IL Rte. 22 and work is to begin on approximately 9/20. They expect to complete it in two stages over a period of about seven working days and impacts to traffic will be lane reductions thru the work zone. The contact information for the IDOT construction supervisor on this project is:
