LAKE COOK ROAD CONSTRUCTION

 

ConstructionCook County/Lake Cook Road Construction project from Wilmot to Pfingsten in Deerfield

 

In early spring 2011, the Cook County Highway Department begins construction on Lake Cook Road from Wilmot Road to Pfingsten Road in the Village of Deerfield. This is an approximately 1.2 mile project that provides patching with diamond grinding of the existing pavement from east of Wilmot Road to Pine Street and provides reconstruction of the existing 4 lane pavement to 6 lanes from Pine Street to the east edge of Pfingsten Road.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Village of Buffalo Grove Transportation Update

 

From April to November, the Cook County Highway Department will be completely reconstructing Arlington Heights Road from just south of University Drive in Arlington Heights to Lake Cook Road.

Gather your old computers, small appliances, TVs, just about anything with a plug and drive over to the Electronics Recycling event at the Archer Parking Lot in downtown Long Grove. Our team of volunteers will unload your vehicle and you'll be on your way within minutes. This is a great way to welcome Spring while clearing out some clutter from your home office, kitchen and garage.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST APRIL 10th

LAKE ZURICH AMERICAN LEGION POST # 964 

 

 Lake Zurich Post #964 of The American Legion will be holding the semi-annual fundraiser which is our Pancake Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, on Sunday, April 10th. There will be our usual fare of Pancakes, Eggs, Sausage,Fruit Toppings and Beverage.
     The cost for the breakfast is $6.00 for Adults; $5.00 for Seniors 60+ and Teens ages 13 thru 19; $4.00 for children ages 3 thru 12; Free to under age 3 and anyone in current military uniform.
    The purpose of our fundraisers are so that we could continue to be a participating member of the Lake Zurich and Ela Township Area Community by first and foremost helping physically, morally and financially the Veterans of the Lake Zurich Area,  our sponsoring of the Annual Memorial Day Parade, the Lake Zurich American Legion Baseball Team, sponsoring High School Juniors to attend Premier Boys State of Illinois (a seminar on the basics of local and state government held at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL), the sponsorship of Boy Scout Troop 964, awarding the annual American Legion School Award to a boy and girl graduate of four area elementary/junior high schools, and other charitable contributions in the Lake Zurich Area.

A QR (quick response) code is a matrix barcode used to quickly access information via convenient smart phone apps. Users scan the code with their smart phone (equipped with a camera and a QR reader app) decoding text, typically a website URL which can be opened on the phone's web browser. QR codes linking to Lake County Forest Preserve trail maps are now available at select preserves-check the kiosk and map signs in the preserves for the QR code, scan it with your phone and take a trail map to go.

DENTAL DISCOUNT PROGRAM

DENTAL DISCOUNT CARD 

 

A new dental discount card program is now available that will help Lake County residents save money on their dental service expenses. The NACo Dental Discount Card Program, provided by the National Association of Counties (NACo) in partnership with Careington International Corporation, can help Lake County residents save up to 50 percent on their dental care services, and 20 percent on orthodontic services. Individuals or families may opt to pay for a monthly or yearly membership. The cost for a yearly individual membership is $59 and $69 for families. More than 200 providers in Lake County are participating in this program. Discount card holders will receive significant savings from these providers on dental cleanings, x-rays, braces, dentures, crowns, root canals and more. This plan is not insurance.

PRESCRIPTION DRUG DISCOUNT PROGRAM

PRESCRIPTION DRUG DISCOUNT CARD 

 

County residents can take advantage of a prescription drug discount card program.  The free card that is accepted at most pharmacies offers average savings of 20 percent off the retail price of commonly prescribed drugs.  This is intended for people without prescription coverage or on medicines not covered by your plan.  The card may also be used where accepted to fill prescriptions for pets.
