Police Helicopter landing Sept 11 at 2pm (between Sears & Qdoba) Illinois Freemasons will supply detailed kits for children, including fingerprints, photos, and video interviews in the mall's upper level next to Macy's
Over 20 police and related agencies will be on hand at Westfield Hawthorn Mall (Routes 21 and 60 in Vernon Hills) on the weekend of September 11-12, 2010 for the 6th Annual Law Enforcement Exhibition. Squad cars from many different departments, a Spyder, police motorcycles, 6-wheel ATV and an 8-wheel ATV are just some of the police equipment that can be seen. Plus many activities for the kids and plenty of giveaways and information! If you've ever wanted to see what the police do, this is your chance! We will also be having a police helicopter landing on-site on Saturday (depending on weather) and several K-9 demonstrations throughout the weekend.

E-Cycling Event |
E-Cycling is Easy for Lake County Residents!
SWALCO (The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County) will hold a 2 day collection event hosted by Lake County Division of Transportation, where residents from Lake County can bring their household electronics, including computer equipment, home electronics to be recycled.
The collection is one of several scheduled for Fall and will take place at the Lake County Division of Transportation Facility, 600 W. Winchester Road in Libertyville, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, September 17 and 18.
The collection is open to Lake County, IL residents only. There is no charge for this service.
What You Can Bring: Personal Computers, Monitors, Computer Drives, Keyboards, Modems, Scanners, Printers & Copiers, PDA Organizers, Telephones (including Cellular, Smartphones & Accessories), Televisions, Stereos and Stereo Systems, MP3 Players, CD Players, DVDs, DVRs & VCR's, Satellite TV Receivers &Accessories, Cameras, Clocks & Watches, Gaming Systems & Accessories, Navigation Systems, Fax Machines, Shredders, Microwaves & Small Household Appliances (like coffeepots, toasters and hair dryers).

No commercial or business materials will be accepted.

Dehumidifiers, air conditioners, large appliances, electric lighting fixtures, broken glass and household chemical waste will not be accepted at this event.

Items should be delivered free of any packaging materials.

Additionally, SWALCO partners with many of their member communities to offer electronics collections at locations throughout the county, including some year-round drop-off programs. New electronics collection events are posted as they are scheduled. Anyone who would like to receive occasional email announcements about SWALCO programs, collections, (including electronics and household chemical waste), and other information, can sign up for their E-list online. IS SPONSORING A CONCERT FEATURING THE MIGHTY THEATRE ORGAN THAT IS LOCATED IN THE AUDITORIUM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ST MARY OF THE LAKE, MUNDELEIN, ILLINOIS

Time: 3 PM, refreshments available at 2:30PM
Cost is $20.00 per person

The concert will feature music of the Vaudeville era played on the organ, a sing along, yes with the bouncing ball, singers and a silent movie accompanied by the theatre organ.
Sorry the theatre is not wheel chair accessible.

It's Flu Season Again...
Lake County:
The Lake County Health Department has scheduled six public clinics for the annual flu vaccine. The clinics are located throughout Lake County and will run from Sept. 10 to Oct. 1.
Flu clinics schedule:
· Warren Township, 17801 Washington St., Gurnee. Sept. 10, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments encouraged. Call (847)244-1101 ext. 501 or visit www.lakecountyflu.com .
· The Regent Center, 1200 Regent Drive, Mundelein. Sept. 17, 9 a.m. to noon. Appointments encouraged. Call (847) 566-4790 or visit www.lakecountyflu.com .
· Libertyville Civic Center, 135 W. Church St., Libertyville. Sept. 21, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Walk-in clinic.
· St. Mark Church, Education Center, 1840 Grand Ave., Lindenhurst. Sept. 24, 9 a.m. to noon. Walk-in clinic.
· North Chicago Health Center (Lake County Health Department), 2215 14th St., North Chicago. Sept. 29, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Walk-in clinic.

In addition to the scheduled flu clinics, annual flu and pneumonia vaccinations for all age groups will be available at the Immunization Annex on the Belvidere Medical Campus, 2303 Dodge Avenue in Waukegan. Appointments are strongly encouraged. Call (847) 377-8470 to make an appointment or for more information.
Cost / Fee:
It is important that persons 65 and over bring their Medicare part B cards to the clinics, which will cover the cost of the flu and pneumonia vaccines. Medicaid and All Kids will also be accepted. Fees are $35 for the flu vaccine and $52 for the pneumonia vaccine, based on the ability to pay. Children 18 years of age and younger who have no insurance, or whose insurance does not fully cover the cost of vaccines, may receive a flu shot for $10.

PRINT PRESCRIPTION DRUG CARD |
County residents can take advantage of a prescription drug discount card program. The free card that is accepted at most pharmacies offers average savings of 20 percent off the retail price of commonly prescribed drugs. This is intended for people without prescription coverage or on medicines not covered by your plan. The card may also be used where accepted to fill prescriptions for pets.
