Work on the CN Railroad crossing at Old McHenry Road is progressing nicely. It is however causing some hardship for a local business located almost next to the track/road closure. Having owned a small business of my own I know first hand how difficult it is to operate a company in these difficult economic times - - without having to deal with an additional obstacle such as this.... Bill Koch, President of Hawthorn Gardens, needs our help! His business is open and his staff is on hand to help you with all your gardening needs. It may be a little difficult getting there but Old McHenry Rd. on the east side of the track closure is open from Quentin Road to Hawthorn Gardens and St. Matthew Church.
Bill notified me that as an incentive he will provide a $5 Gas Card to those customers living west of the Old McHenry railroad track closure who make a $25 or more purchase between now and the time the railroad crossing on Old McHenry Road is reopened.
So please, regardless of which side of the tracks your on, lets help one of our local businesses while helping beautify our homes and property. You'll feel good doing so and if you live on the west side of the tracks, you'll have $5 to spend at the pump next time you gas up. THANKS!!

Old McHenry Road (County Route V-77) will be closed to through traffic, from Quentin Road (County Route V-62) to Midlothian Road, by the Lake County Division of Transportation to accommodate the installation of a new rubber crossing at the railroad crossing by the Canadian National Railroad.
