Heron Creek Forest Preserve is just down the road at the corner of Old Mc Henry Rd. and Rt. 22 - - it's a beautiful location and has a great playground for the kids! ELA ROAD AT CANADIAN NATIONAL RAILROAD TRACKS
TO CLOSE FOR FIVE DAYS
The Lake County Division of Transportation in cooperation with the Elgin, Joliet, and Eastern Division of the Canadian National Railroad, will close Ela Road (County Route V-57)
to thru traffic from Cuba Road (County Route A-46) to U.S. Route 12, in Lake Zurich, IL, to rehabilitate their railroad crossing south of U.S. Route 12.
Ela Road is scheduled to close at 8:00 A.M., Monday, November 2, 2009 and reopen approximately Friday, November 6, 2009 at 6:00 P.M.
The railroad intends to renew the track structure by replacing the track and ballast thru the Ela Road crossing and then replace the existing concrete and rubber crossing surface with a full depth rubber crossing.
The signed detour route for the Ela Road closing will be Cuba Road (County Route A-46) to U.S. Route 12.
