The Meeting School Merit Day Student Scholarship
|
|

For the second year in a row, The Meeting
School is pleased to announce that the school has full merit scholarships for
the 2010-2011 school year available to high school day student
freshmen, sophomores and juniors who have demonstrated leadership or who have
undertaken creative work in the arts, sciences or humanities.
Jim Lippincott of Ashby, Massachusetts, whose son James
was awarded a scholarship for the 2009-2010 school year, says "The day
student scholarship has allowed us to take advantage of the marvelous learning
opportunities that The Meeting School has to offer. Our son is thriving in a
learning community that provides small classes, a supportive faculty and an
engaging curriculum. Sending James to The Meeting School is the best decision
our family has ever made." To apply for the scholarship, applicants should complete the
regular admissions process, and then complete an additional scholarship
application. Applicants must also
have a 3.0 GPA or higher or demonstrate prior academic success. Applications
will be accepted until qualified candidates are identified; we recommend
that those interested in the scholarship apply by March 15, 2010.
To learn more about the scholarships, please contact Emily Burr, Admissions Director, at (603) 899-2806 or admissions@meetingschool.org.

Around the Farm
|
|
Given the season, the gardens are currently dormant. The spring farm class is going to focus on developing a garden map, ordering seeds, starting seeds and, weather permitting, prepping the gardens. The class will also focus on some infrastructure and repair items around the barn and farm.
We anticipate hiring a 2006 alumnae as a summer intern. If all works out well she'll be starting in May.
We believe two cows are pregnant and expect the calves in the summer. Ginger the pig is currently on a romantic getaway in Acworth with a new parmamour.
The Meeting School will also have a significant presence at the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Hampshire (NOFA-NH) Winter Conference on March 6 in Concord, New Hampshire. We will be offering two workshops and have information about the school on display.

at the Home of Joe Carson '58 Newton Center, Massachusetts Sunday, February 7 at 5 pm
We
invite all TMS alumni to come and reminisce with other alumni, make new connections, hear
about The Meeting School today, and share a meal with other people who are
living interesting, socially-conscious and creative lives.
While
we invite people to bring a dish to share, we will have extra food on hand for
those too busy to prepare a dish. We will also have fare from the gardens at
TMS.
