Thank you, Lord God Almighty, for all the benefits you gave given us.

FROM OUR CHAIRMAN'S HEART

With a Grateful Heart

Nearly five years have passed since the Lord invited me to help lead this community as Chairman of the secretariat for a second time. It has been a high honor to serve with wonderful folks who demonstrate their heart of love for the Lord and for the Tres Dias ministry. There are so many gifts and talents required to make every weekend a reality and it is only as Abba provides the leadership and empowerment that a vessel of honor is formed that reveals His heart and mind to the candidates. As we have all experienced feeling loved and cherished is dramatically different from just knowing it. The life changing impact your support has brought about will not be fully understood this side of eternity.

Tres Dias of North Georgia is strongly positioned to continue its ideal of inspiring leaders and to return the kind of laymen that Pastors stay up nights praying for to serve in the local church.

We have re-discovered the beauty of simplicity in our weekend model and returned to emphasizing those beliefs and doctrines that unite us as the body of Christ. The trans-denominational environment truly fosters a spirit of unity in that is very rare indeed.

In my Fourth day of 34 years I am just as grateful to the Lord for making Tres Dias such an integral part of my life with Him as I was the Monday following my weekend.

I remain in awe of all He accomplishes in my life and the lives of so many through this remarkable gift.

As I reflect back over this season, my mind is filled with so many great memories and my heart filled with appreciation to all who have shared this part of the journey with me.

When He returns, may our Lord find us singing DeColores as we continue to be about our Father's business.

Blessed to be a blessing,

Bill

Please rsvp to the Kigers at joan4given@yahoo.com so we will have an idea how much turkey and ham to provide.  Also, be sure to bring generous portions of side dishes to go with those meats.  We still need a few more table hosts/hostesses.  Please let Joan know if you are interested in doing that.  There were a few names on the August list that we couldn't quite make out, so please confirm that you intend to do a table and that one is reserved for you.

TRES DIAS GUIDE FOR TEAM MEMBERS

The following continues a series of excerpts from The Tres Dias Guide for Team Members.

SPECIFIC TEAM ASSIGNMENTS

ROLLISTA

There are fifteen rollos given during the Weekend.  The person giving a rollo is referred to as a rollista.  If you are asked by the rector to give a rollo, you will be given an outline for that rollo.

It is vital that each rollista stay within both the time limits and the contents included in the "Outline".  The "Commentary on the Outline" will provide valuable information for the rollista.  However, the rollista may decide to use some portions of the "Commentary" content and may decide not to use other portions.  The "Commentary" contains far more content than can possible be presented during the time allowed for the rollo.  The rollista should not deliver the rollo speaking word for word form the "Commentary" other than part I.A. of the Reunion Groups rollo.

NOTE:  The rollista also has a very important role to play in the dynamics of the table groupings.  This role is explained as part of the training conducted during the team meetings.

In the next issue, we will present the role of the Spiritual Director.

SECRETARIAT REMINDERS

reminder
The Secretariat would like to remind you that it is inappropriate to bring children to send-off, closing, serenade or other Tres Dias functions that are not "family affairs"
Further, only those that have attended a recognized 3-day weekend my attend Tres Dias functions.

We appreciate your understanding and compliance with these Tres Dias requirements.

-   -   -

Also a reminder to sponsors - Please urge your candidates to leave all cell phones & electronic devices at home so that they can block out the outside world & spend 3 days focusing totally on God & what He has in store for them.

  -   -   -

There has been a growing issue with sponsors bringing candidates to send-off that have not been called for the weekend by the Secretariat.  We would ask that, to avoid embarrassment to yourselves and your candidate, that you NOT bring anyone to attend a weekend that has not been called by the Secretariat.  If you have a candidate that can attend at the last minute, write "last minute" on the top of the application and the application will be handled accordingly.  For questions about this, or any area of sponsorship, contact the appropriate Secretariat member.
-   -   -
We would like to remind everyone in the community that names and addresses from weekend rosters, team lists, and or the TDNG database are for TDNG use only.  This information should not be used for solicitation, or any other purpose not related to TDNG business.

If you have a need to inform the community of a ministry, prayer need, employment opportunity or need, we encourage you to use the message board referenced earlier in this newsletter.

-   -   -

Over the years a tradition has evolved where the sponsor paid the fee for their candidate's weekend; however, it is not a requirement to sponsorship.  Please do not avoid sponsoring just because you can't pay their fee or only sponsor those you can pay for in your budget.  Many sponsors will mention the $125.00 weekend fee up front and ask if that would that be a problem?

Think of it this way, if you invite friends to go see the Falcon's play, that does not obligate you to pay for their tickets or if you invite someone to go to a concert you do not feel obligated to pick up the tab. Remember the only way your friends can experience Tres Dias is for you to sponsor them.

-   -   -

Each Rector who serves the community agrees to be responsible for the collection of the team fees for their weekend. In some cases it has been interpreted that they would have to pay for any fees that were not paid by team members. This is not the intent. It is the Rector's responsibility to ensure that a full weekend fee is collected and paid to the Secretariat, but the fee is not his/her personal liability. Any shortfall should be taken care of by scholarships and remaining incidental fees.
