Florida Personhood Amendment
The proposed Florida Personhood Amendment will NOT be on the November 6, 2012 ballot. Originally proposed in 2009, it's been held off due to insufficient of signatures.
As RESOLVE puts it, "a so-called 'personhood' ballot initiative would define when life begins and would impact your state's constitution and/or many current legal statutes." We agree that "personhood ballot initiatives would also dramatically impact the medical treatment practiced in fertility clinics and would negatively impact access to care for women and men who are diagnosed with infertility."
You can read about RESOLVE's position on Personhood to understand how this impacts infertility medical treatments. If you agree, we encourage you to share this information with others. RESOLVE is an excellent resource and they have much more information on their website.
Dr. Sweet also commented on the same amendment when it was being voted upon in Mississippi in the Sweet Fertility Blog.
