Expiring Allotments
Did you know that millions of dollars go back to the postal service every year because employees forget or decide not to spend their uniform allotment. This is a benefit that is negotiated and is part of the collective bargaining agreement with the postal service.
In the past it was relatively easy to get your money from an expired allotment by contacting the the local uniform person in human resources. Today, it is close to impossible to get your money from an expired allotment. The uniform allotment funds are now handled by Shared Services out of Greensboro, NC. You may contact them at 1-877-477-3273 option #5, but the success rate is very low.
We recommend you put a reminder on a calendar, set a reminder on your cell phone or personal computer. It is your responsibility to remember to spend your money.
