Greetings!

In response to feedback from our customers we have started a monthly newsletter to provide information about products, care of your uniforms, changes in the uniform program, and the services we provide at US Uniforms.
Footwear

You have many choices of footwear in your uniform program. Styles include athletic, oxfords, chukkas, and boots. Some may be insulated or waterproof. Most think the prices are high and in comparison to other shoe outlets they may be slightly higher.

All footwear in the uniforms is certified by Navy Natick...the same testing laboratory that certifies all of the United States Navy's uniforms. The footwear is certified non-slip and must be 100% USA made. That means every component from shoe laces to the soles have to be made in the USA.

The next time you visit a department store or shoe outlet...check out their selection and see where they are made. This may answer the question of why the postal approved footwear is higher in price.

Footwear Tips

In the beginning years of your career it is difficult to purchase all of the items needed for all of the seasons without digging into your pocket. If possible we recommend at least two pairs of shoes so they can be rotated. They need a breather just like you do. Even on the cool days your feet perspire. They need to dry out before they start again.

Shoes must dry naturally. Do not put them over a register or put them in the oven. Let them sit out where they can dry over a period of hours. If leather is dried quickly it can become brittle and can crack.

The next step is to keep plenty of polish on your shoes. This will protect them from the rain, snow, and chemicals on the lawns you walk through every day.

The amount of wear or how long the shoe will last varies, but if you use the tips above you will increase the life of your shoes and save money in the long run.

We appreciate your business and look forward to taking care of your uniform needs in the future. If you have any questions, please give us a call.
