Educate and Empower Your Nonprofit Staff in the New Year

You've probably set some personal resolutions for 2012. Why not make some professional resolutions as well? This year send your nonprofit staff or volunteers to free professional development opportunities at the Pima County Public Library. On Friday, January 13th from 2 to 4 pm, come to the Grants Databases Open Lab where you can learn how to use the library's grants research databases to find funders for your nonprofit. Another workshop opportunity on January 20th from 9:30 to 11:15 am will teach you how to engage your nonprofit board in fundraising. Look for more training opportunities on our website every month to help achieve your resolution!

Projects Supporting Evangelical Christianity

The Crowell Trust is dedicated to the teaching and active extension of the doctrines of Evangelical Christianity. Their giving priorities include projects involving the unreached, biblically illiterate, highest need and least resourced areas and populations of the world,Holistic Gospel Expressions, Key Influencers, and Care for the Oppressed, especially women, needing care, protection and enablement. Past grants of $20,000 have been made.

Museum Support

The Bert W. Martin Foundation provides supporting to Tucson-area cultural and higher-education institutions, including museums. Recent past grants have ranged from $10,000 to $100,000. To apply, please submit a short letter, the project budget, and proof of your 501(c)3 status to The Bert W. Martin Foundation, c/o The Northern Trust Co., Attn.: Thomas James, Secy., 50 S. La Salle St., Ste. B-3, Chicago, IL, 60603-1006. Architectural Projects

The mission of the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts is to foster the development and exchange of diverse and challenging ideas about architecture and its role in the arts, culture, and society. Grants assist organizations with the production-related expenses that are necessary to take a project from conceptualization to realization and public presentation. These projects may include, but are not limited to, publications, exhibitions, installations, conferences/lectures, films, new media projects, and other public programs. The maximum grant amount is $30,000.

Prize for Organizations Serving Jews With Disabilities

The Ruderman Family Foundation has announced the Ruderman Prize in Disability, a new award program designed to support excellence and innovation in services, advocacy, and support of Jews with disabilities worldwide. The program seeks to recognize organizations anywhere in the world that support the foundation's goals of promoting the full inclusion of all persons with disabilities and increasing public awareness of both the contributions and needs of persons with disabilities worldwide. Up to 10 prizes will be awarded with an average monetary award of $20,000.

Conservation Job Training Programs for Young People

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation will provide $50,000 to $100,000 grants to organizations that are developing innovative conservation job opportunities for youth which expose young people, particularly urban and minority youth, to the natural world and career opportunities available in conservation. A minimum 1:1 match of non-federal cash and/or in-kind contribution is required and higher match ratios are preferred.

Literacy Education for Adults & Families

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation literacy grants award funding to nonprofit organizations that provide direct service to adults in need of literacy assistance or to family literacy service providers. The Foundation uses the federal government's definition of family literacy when reviewing grant applications. Maximum grant amount is $15,000.

The Engineering Information Foundation provides support to developmental projects, instructional projects, and training programs in engineering education and research that fit the following fields: enhancing communication and use of information in engineering, women in engineering, and developing countries.Grant requests should be between $5,000 and $25,000.
