Tenuous State of the Charitable Giving Incentive

Many of you may have been following the story in Washington D.C. on the proposed cap for itemized reductions for tax purposes, which may affect individual donors' ability or inclination to give to nonprofits. It was only recently that senators removed this option as the way for paying for the Jobs Bill currently being reviewed in the U.S. Congress. However, the deficit reduction super committee may still consider this as an option to help balance the U.S. budget. Many different organizations that advocate for nonprofits are urging nonprofit leaders to sign letters and take action to prevent this cap from being considered.
