Crunching the Numbers: Nonprofit Accounting

Many people fear learning about the basic financial processes that allow their nonprofit organization to operate. The ASU Lodestar Center Blog recently featured an article entitled "Why should I learn about nonprofit accounting?" which provides answers to several common arguments that individuals give when faced with this challenge. After reading this article, come to the Grants & Nonprofit Info Center's free workshop Accounting Essentials for Nonprofits on Tuesday, October 25th, from 10 am to 11 am to hear about how nonprofits should have their finances set up to maximize accountability and transparency. Nonprofit organizations that have their own accounting staff may also be interested in attending luncheons with the Non Profit Organizations' Financial Administrators' Network, which discusses financial issues of interest to nonprofit organizations in southern Arizona.
