Nonprofit Networking
Collaboration between organizations is often a key component of winning a grant from a private grantmaker. However, you may not be sure where to start in creating beneficial partnerships for your nonprofit and your partners. If that's the case, consider attending the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofit's free Collaboration Forum on September 21st at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library. If you're not able to come to the event, you can find other local nonprofits with similar interests using Guidestar's advanced Nonprofit Search by entering keywords relevant to your nonprofit and searching by location. Additionally, come to any nonprofit training workshop hosted by the Pima County Public Library. Impromptu networking happens at these events all of the time!

Grants Promote Progressive Social Change

Deadline: September 1, 2011 (Letter of inquiry)

The Funding Exchange (FEX) is a network of community-based foundations that support progressive social change organizations working for social, racial, economic, and environmental justice around the country. The FEX national office is currently accepting letters of inquiry for two grant opportunities. Social Justice Collaboration Grants support cross-issue and cross-geography coalitions that create more impact than any one organization can do on its own. Funding should be used to work through the issues related to a long-lasting collaboration, not short-term campaign-driven collaborations. The focus of Bold Frontiers Grants is on expanding the FEX's reach into areas that have neither a local FEX-affiliated fund nor a strong progressive movement.
