| Prove Your Program's Impact | | Donors, grantmakers, politicians, and the public all have a desire to see measurable results from your nonprofit's activities. You may not have originally thought of program development in terms of evaluation methods, but it's never too late to get started! The Free Management Library gives you a Basic Guide to Program Evaluation, while the W.K. Kellogg Foundation's Evaluation Handbook provides a grantmaker's view of evaluation as "a relevant and useful program tool." You might also want to check out the Corporation for National & Community Service's User's Guide to Evaluation for National Service Programs as a model for your future program evaluation. Whatever technique you choose, it is vital to make sure you mention your evaluation plans in any grant proposal you submit to your funder. |
