How to Attract Major Donors
Nonprofits rely on a mix of revenue streams, including investment income, fees for goods and services, grants, and individual donations. In most cases a few major donors make up a large part of the total income in the individual donations category. "Getting Major Gifts" by Kim Klein outlines the basic fundraising plan needed to obtain large gifts for your nonprofit. Andrea Kihlstedt discusses building relationships with your donors before asking for major gifts to increase your chances of success in "Spending Time with Your Donors." Finally, be prepared to answer The 11 Questions Every Donor Asks when you finally sit down with them by reviewing this book by Harvey McKinnon.
