Welcome Home Veterans Parade
Media Borough will host the Welcome Home 2012 Parade and flag passing ceremony on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 3PM to honor returning Veterans from the Philadelphia region who have served our country from 9/11/2001 to present day. There will also be a Veterans Outreach/Career Awareness Fair 12-5PM on the Courthouse lawn at Front Street and a broadcast live on 1210 AM radio from 3-5PM. Billboard Advertising
The Media Business Authority is always looking for new ways to advertise and create exposure for Media. We've spent several months in research and negotiations with Steen Advertising and have signed a four-month digital billboard contract. Here are a few facts:
  • The 14 ft. X 48 ft. digital billboard is on I-95 Northbound near the Essington Exit (Motel 6)
  • The leased time slot would show at least 1,250 times per day (8 seconds per minute for 24 hours/day)
  • The billboard will be seen by 100,000+ commuters per day

The MBA is pleased to offer Media businesses the opportunity to purchase one of the available digital billboard weeks for a reduced cost of $800 per week. Each business would work directly with Steen in their plans for their billboard design and message to be displayed within a Media-branded border.  We hope that you will consider joining us in this new and exciting endeavor.

Media Recycling
Media Borough thanks the 168 Media businesses that reported full recycling on their 2011 Commercial Recycling forms! Unfortunately, only 30% of businesses who received the form responded. The businesses that reported full recycling on their 2011 form by the April 14 deadline are listed on this report. An updated list will be published on the Borough website. If you think your name should be on this list, it is not too late to submit your 2011 recycling report. Please contact the recycling coordinator at 610-566-5210, ext. 239 for more information.
Media Farmers Market
Media Farmers Market runs every Thursday 3-7PM, May 10 through November 15. Continuing the success of last year's partnership program, the market will be featuring a Media business each week. For details and signup, contact Joe Fazik: manager@mediafarmersmarket.com.
