Black Friday and Other Holiday Promotions
The MBA is compiling a list we'll promote to make Media a more attractive Black Friday destination.  Please send us your details... extended hours, discounts, promotions, hospitality, etc.

And are you doing anything else special during this season?  Let us know and we'll help spread the word through the calendar, iPhone app, Facebook and Twitter.
"20 On The Town" - Recap
We'd like to take a quick minute to recap on last Saturday's "20 On The Town" event.  While this was our first 20OTT event, we were pleased to see that 51 businesses chose to participate (click here to for the full list)!  We hope this event will mature to become a trademark for Media.  So, how was your Saturday?  We'd appreciate you taking a minute to answer this quick survey so we can see what went well and what can be improved.
Holiday Business Mixer
The annual MBA Holiday Mixer will be held on Wednesday,
December 15 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM at Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union.  This is a great opportunity to network with your fellow businesses and meet our new Media business owners.  Please mark your calendars and plan to come.  Wonderful food and beverages will be provided, plus prizes will be raffled!  Click here for more info...
Media Money $$
Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union is providing financial and operational backing for a local currency to be exchanged as legal tender in participating Media Businesses. This is a great opportunity to keep money circulating in our community. A pilot program is being introduced this holiday season with twenty dollar bills that consumers may purchase at a discount. Businesses who honor the currency will be able to exchange Media Money at Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union for full-value federal dollars (US cash). Please let us know if you will be a participating business.
Small Business Saturday
What is Small Business Saturday? More than a dozen advocacy, public, and private organizations are joining American Express OPEN in declaring the Saturday after Thanksgiving as Small Business Saturday. This year, Small Business Saturday is November 27, 2010. Small Business Saturday recognizes the importance of small businesses to the overall economy and local communities. It's a day to support the small, independently owned businesses we can't live without. Click here for more info!
A Look Ahead to the Holidays
Media has a great tradition of holiday events and a beautiful streetscape for shoppers and diners to enjoy.  As we prepare for the 2010 season, here's a quick preview of upcoming events (and the latest calendar is available online here):
    • 23-Nov: Annie starts at The Media Theatre
    • 26-Nov: Santa's Arrival & Festival of Lights
    • 08-Dec: Carriage Rides 6-9pm
    • 11-Dec: 2nd Saturday, plus Holiday House Tour and Carriage Rides
    • 15-Dec: Carriage Rides 6-9pm
    • 16-Dec: Visit Santa in Media @ Santa's Village
      (daily through 23-Dec)
    • 22-Dec: Carriage Rides 6-9pm
    • 31-Dec: New Years Eve Celebration & Ball Drop
We hope everyone will stay open late on the Carriage Ride and 2nd Saturday nights if they can.  We'll be making the Carriage Rides a little more special this year with an extended route that takes riders from Monroe to Orange Streets, scripts the drivers will read highlighting Media landmarks, and participation by Front Street businesses like the Library.  We'll also be giving all riders a special Media bag... if you have anything you'd like to contribute to the bags (advertisements, coupons, small gifts, candy, etc), please let us know.  This is a great way to reach potential customers directly.
We would like to hear what topics interest you, and we are also always looking for volunteers, so please feel free to contact us @ or 610.566.5039 anytime. We also welcome you to join the Promotions Committee Meetings the 3rd Thursday of every month.

In an effort to communicate more effectively with local businesses and organizations, the MBA will be regularly conveying important information related to our business community via this newsletter service: ConstantContact.
The MBA is committed to getting information to the entire business community. Please call if you would like a hard copy of this newsletter to be made available to you.
