Raw Vegan Vanilla Cashew Cream

I experienced this heavenly stuff at a BBQ last summer - put it on top any of your favorite fruit (I like it on mixed berries) and it makes for a great and healthy dessert!    

Vegan, Raw and Gluten-free.  Does it get any better?

 

  • 1 cup organic raw cashews soaked for 2 hours (soaking is optional)
  • 1/4-1/2 cup filtered water depending on desired thickness
  • 1-2 Tbsp agave or more to taste
  • 1/2 tsp natural vanilla extract, or a little more to taste
  • a pinch of Celtic sea salt 

 

Throw everything into the blender and puree until thick and creamy.

 

It is a good idea to start with ¼ cup of water, and then gradually thin it out in order to achieve the desired thickness.

  

**Please note - you will need a high speed blender, such as a Vitamix in order to achieve a really creamy consistency.

Parking!!

 

Manhattan Beach:

back parking lot.

 

Since we like to stay for a whole 50 minutes of "torture" our neighbors at GROW have asked us to park in the back of the Manhattan Beach Studio.   

This will allow GROW customers to run in and out quickly with their bags of groceries. If you haven't been into GROW yet, check them out!

Get to know Liane, our new General Manager!:

1. What's your long story short? Meaning who are you and where did you come from?

 

I have been all over the place - I just moved here from Philadelphia and before that I was in Pittsburgh.  For the majority of my adult life I was a sports reporter, worked for ESPN and FSN.  Met a lot of really interesting people, but in the end I didn't feel fulfilled.

 

At my core - I'm a west coast girl - more specifically the northwest - from Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington primarily.  I was an NCAA athlete at Oregon State University where I rowed throughout college.  Loved it so much that I've coached on and off for a number of years.  I'm currently looking for a club team, so if you know of any in the area - let me know!

 

2. What made you begin your journey with RockIt body?

 

I met Judie (the owner) a couple of months ago when I was out here just visiting friends - we actually took the same All Level SPX class from Amie and I loved the workout.  Judie and I got to talking about her general vision and I took a chance on coming out here to work with her.  It turned out to be one of my better life choices. 

 

3. What is your favorite part about RockIt Body?

 

I've always been a fitness advocate and had never experienced a challenge like this.  RockIt Body works my entire body in every session.  That's what I loved about rowing and I found it again here.  Our trainers are the best I have ever experienced and I've taken group class workouts for the last six years, so that's saying something.

 

 4. What is your favorite SPX exercise?

 

I'm a big fan of Teaser, Carriage Kicks and Scrambled Eggs.  I'm an all-over body person, so I don't have a particular favorite - I did a 6-minute inner thigh workout with Kaci the other day that just about killed me.  Six minutes!  And I'll tell you with the number of tricep dips Lisa likes to dish out in her Recess classes - I've never had more definition that I do now. 

 

5. What do you do for exercise those days you just can't make it to class?

 

I'll go for a run along the Strand. I've also started running the stairs in Redondo.  I've recently taken up beach volleyball, which is a surprisingly good workout!

 

6. What do you wish everyone would know about you when first meeting you?

 

I'm a Sagittarius!  Other than that... I'm a huge health nut.  I've been a vegan, vegetarian, pescetarian - you name it I've tried it.  Every cleanse.  I created diet plans for my rowers to follow, so I'm well versed in the diet and nutrition.  I also had the pleasure of supporting a former boyfriend through PT school, so by late night cramming and manual therapy sessions I've got a lot of anatomy knowledge under my belt!

 

7. What is your dream vacation?

 

My dream vacation as of right now is to get to Bhutan as soon as possible.  It's one of the few spots that has yet to be industrialized, which is appealing to me for whatever reason.  My grandmother is a serious world traveler - we're talking all seven continents and over 100 countries, so I'm going to try and catch up with her.  We'll see.

1. Redondo Beach is metered parking.  6 am- 6 pm, 7 day/week.

2. Purchase a Redondo Beach Parking Pass for $80/yr

3. Tread socks must be worn in all classes. You may bring your own, or  purchase them at our studio.(Please remember, no shoes allowed in the workout area)

4. Please turn off Cellphones during classes.

5. All Auto-pay memberships (3 month, etc) are also Auto-Renewing.  

So, that means that when your 3 months end, it will always automatically renew your membership for the following 3 months. To discontinue the membership, please email us at least ten days before the renewal date.

6.  You must have a valid credit card on file at all times.      

If your auto pay does not go through when scheduled, we will be required to put your account on hold until we reconcile your account.  You will not get those days added back at the end of your hold.

8. Waitlist-If a class is full, you can still click "Sign Up Now" to be put on the Wait List.

  • If you are added to the class from a waitlist, yu are automatically confirmed in the class, and held to the late cancel and no-show fees and policies.

 9.  Lost & Found- Please check out the lost and found in both locations for items missing. We will be donating all items at the beginning of each month.
