Help celebrate Earth Day by volunteering at Breakheart Reservation in Saugus this Saturday. Make a difference in your local environment by helping to remove trash, clearing debris from hiking trails, and improving gardens.
- Check in at the registration table hosted by Saugus River Watershed Council and the Saugus Clergy Association to sign-in for cleanup or trail clearing projects beginning at 9:00 AM.
- Saugus Action Volunteers for the Environment will host their annual 'New to You SWAP' in the Visitor's Center from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. where you can drop off gently used items and pick up things you need. This is a great way to handle spring cleaning while keeping reusable items out of landfills.
- The Saugus Garden Club will be coordinating garden improvement projects.
This Saturday's Earth Day activities are jointly sponsored by the Saugus River Watershed Council, the Saugus Clergy Association, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, the Saugus Garden Club, Saugus Action Volunteers for the Environment, and Friends of Breakheart Reservation.
