Impact of Climate Change in New England
SRWC Annual Meeting, November 30th, 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.

It's not too late to attend!  Register today.  Please join the Saugus River Watershed Council and friends for our annual meeting and dinner at the Hilltop Steakhouse, Route 1 South in Saugus on Tuesday, 30 November 2010, 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This event is open to the general public.

 

Invite your friends and colleagues to be sure that they don't miss out on this unique opportunity to learn about the impact of climate change in New England, and help us honor some fabulous students from Lynn for their local efforts to protect the environment.

Keynote Presentation 
Keynote speaker Kevin Knobloch, President of the Union of Concerned Scientists, will discuss the potential impact of climate change in New England and across the globe. Kevin has led delegations from the Union of Concerned Scientists to the United Nations International Climate negotiations in Montreal in 2005, Bali in 2007, Poznan in 2008, and Copenhagen in 2009. He is also co-chair of the Climate and Energy Committee for the Green Group, a coalition of CEOs from 32 national environmental organizations.

 

River Stewardship Award
Please join us to honor this year's River Stewardship Award winners. Students in Ms. Donna Whelan's 4th grade class at the Brickett Elementary School in Lynn will be honored for their ongoing efforts to promote water conservation.

SRWC Highlights
SRWC Director Joan LeBlanc will provide brief highlights of the Council's accomplishments during 2010, including our new Climate Change Awareness Program made possible through generous support from the Massachusetts Environmental Trust. Election of officers and board members will take place during a brief business meeting.  

 

Registration 

This event is open to the general public. Admission is $25 per person including a delicious dinner buffet featuring sirloin tips, baked scrod, chicken parmigiana, roasted potatoes, seasonal vegetables, salad, fruit, rolls, chocolate cake, coffee and tea. Cash bar available.
