Scott Rudel, President of Sho-Link

Alan Scaccia, CEO and the Sho-Link Board of Directors announce the appointment of Scott Rudel as President.

Scott Rudel has been with Sho-Link for 12 years, and has served in a variety of management positions, most recently as Executive Vice President. While overseeing the daily responsibilities and operations of Sho-Link, Scott's new role will include expanding the relationships with the ten current display build members who make up the Sho-Link cooperative.

Alan Scaccia, CEO states, "We are very pleased with Scott's promotion. Scott has been in the industry for 25 years and his extensive knowledge drive and dedication is truly an asset to the company. The fact that we were able to promote from within the company will allow a strong continuity factor of Sho-Link's goals with all our City Management as well as our clients."

"I feel privileged and excited to be given this new opportunity," said Scott. "This is an incredibly strong organization that has been successful because of the exceptional management and foresight of everyone from the office manager and the administration staff to all the city managers and their crews." He adds, "I have been very fortunate to be mentored by some extraordinary people in this industry and I believe it to be important to cultivate and promote from within our company to help mentor the next generation of Sho-Link's future."

Sho-Link Corporate To Move

Memories from 11 North Skokie
Shrink wrap, disaster plans, gas leaks . . . a typical day at our current location -- 11 North Skokie Highway in Lake Bluff, IL.  After more than 13 years, Sho-Link Corporate will be moving to its new location at Viking Office Complex at 28045 N. Ashley Circle, Suite 101, Libertyville, IL.   Please join us as we go down memory lane . . .

Rob West used his I&D expertise and shrink-wrapped Lauren Wozniak and April Panosian vehicles.  Talk about a safe ride!
Lauren Car

Early one morning, we were all working at our computers when a horrible smell filled the offices. . . G A S . . . the fire department arrived and our offices were evacuated.  The good news . . . we had a wonderful breakfast together while we waited for our offices to be "gas free".

A severe thunderstorm wiped-out power in most of Lake County, IL and left Sho-Link without power for more than a week last summer.  Thanks to "Mother Nature" our Disaster Plan was put into action.

Another ho-hum day at the office?  Not at Sho-Link, our team is a group of pranksters who love a good natured joke.  How else can we keep each other sane . . . a good amusing prank is what keeps us grounded.   Alan Scaccia has been the victim of our unusual tricks!

Who knew . . . an elevator could be a "floating boat".  Theresa Peiffer heard waves of water every time she entered the elevator and smelled a foul odor.  After further investigation, the unusual sound of water  and smell was a broken subpump that flooded the elevator.

LW4The memories that have been shared like our chili cook-off, ice cream social, and mischievous pranks will be what we take with us as we venture to a new office space. As the Sho-Link Corporate family leaves Skokie Highway office behind, our personal and professional tales, and memories will still grow with each other.

Moen awarded "Best Green Product" at KBIS 2012, Chicago

Although the show does not draw the sizes it has in the past, the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show still maintains its crucial role in shaping the industry, producing eye-catching designs, and new innovations. This year the show was held at McCormick Place, from the 24-26 of April, and kept Sho-Link Chicago on their toes!

Among the booths Sho-Link Chicago set this year, one of the stand-outs was Derse Milwaukee's Moen booth. The 90x60 booth spanned across the floor giving the crew a daunting task that was possible with some elbow grease, and sharp attention to detail. With everything Sho-Link Chicago was setting up, hopefully some of the crew got to see Moen win it's KBIS award, announced on Wednesday, April 25 during the show.

According to www.KBIS.com, the Best of KBIS awards went to "products selected for their functionality, quality/durability, flexibility, aesthetics/style, and innovation." Moen took the "Best Green Product" award away this year for their MotionSense Faucets. Congratulations to Moen for winning this year's award, and helping save the world - one drop at a time!

Ice Cream Social

Picture this . . . Alan Scaccia and Scott Rudel toolbelts removed, wearing ruffled aprons. Replacing the hammer and wrenches are chocolate sauce, whip cream, tasty candies and cherries . . . no romance novel here . . . this is how Sho-Link Corporate celebrates Administrative Professional's Day.

A trip to the local bar was out of the question; instead Toni Jendras, Sho-Link Office Manager, created an ice cream bar with an assortment of flavors, toppings and bananas for a split. Management got to work dishing up ice cream, pouring on sauces and decorating with cookies, candies, sprinkles and a whip cream mountain with cherry on top. Don't worry . . . they are not quitting their day job!

The Great Cowboy and Indian Bottle Rocket War of '68

By Bill Redman

Oh, the Dog Day summers of my youth. July through August. Wikipedia defines the "Dog Days of Summer" as thus: "Dog Days were popularly believed to be an evil time. The Sea boiled, the Wine turned sour, Dogs grew mad and all other creatures became languid; causing to Man, among other diseases, burning fevers, hysterics and phrensies. I'm not sure what "phrensies" means, but everything else sounds pretty close. My mom said that they were called the "Dog Days" because me and my brothers always came home smelling like wet dogs. Adding to that, she said that we attacked dinner like a pack of ravenous wolves.
