Netgear at CES in Las Vegas |
Netgear at CES 2009, Las Vegas, NV
ICON couldn't have been more pleased with the I&D performance of Sho-Link's Vegas team at CES 2009. Led by Eloy Hernandez, Sho-Link managed the I&D of ICON's 50x60, two-story Netgear booth at the LVCC as well as the I&D for Netgear's press conference at the Venetian Hotel. In both situations, Sho-Link's level of service and professionalism were outstanding. Eloy worked masterfully with both ICON's team and the client. Netgear commented that, "Eloy has a clear grasp of the big picture as well as a conscientious attention to detail and a tireless work ethic. We appreciated his great work." The two-story booth was heavily based on Highmark Technologies' systems - ExpoDeck® double deck system, ExZact® modular wall panel system and FlexRail™ railing system. The exhibit also involved significant overhead work - a large hanging lighted sign, two large hanging banners, truss and lighting. Eloy and his team oversaw all aspects of installation - ensuring that the rigging crew worked efficiently on the overhead components and that the ground cables were laid properly, the double deck and walls went up seamlessly and the custom workstations and theater area were positioned and functioned properly. Simultaneously, Eloy managed to handle the set of Netgear's press conference - for both the practice session and the actual conference. Time was of the essence with the press conference and Eloy and his team handled everything without a hitch. "In addition to Eloy's excellent work, Bill Redman and Alicia Hernandez were always available and incredibly responsive to all of our needs. As usual, those two always make us feel like we are in great hands. I can honestly say, it was the most stress-free exhibit installation experience I've ever had - and think that's largely due to the great job ICON did in building and prepping the exhibit and to Sho-Link's exceptional on-site I&D management. We really appreciate Sho-Link making a great impression on our client and making us very proud." |
NIMLOK CHICAGO NAMED TOP NIMLOK U.S DISTRIBUTOR AGAIN!
|
"Exhibit firm offers Top Tips for Staying on Top in a tough economy"

Pictured left to right are Simon Perutz, Nimlok Company President; Peter Crouch, Nimlok Chicago Managing Partner; Deborah Venable, Nimlok Chicago Managing Partner; and Gerald Perutz, Nimlok Company Chairman.
Despite a challenging economic climate, Nimlok Chicago, a trade show exhibit and design firm, was named Nimlok Company's number one distributor for the sixth year in a row. Nimlok Chicago competed with 200 Nimlok distributors nationwide at the recent Nimlok Distributor Conference.
Nimlok Chicago managing partner Peter Crouch as well as Nimlok Chicago sales consultants Maria Valdovinos, Deborah Kerrigan, and Tim Stopka were named among the top five Nimlok sales consultants nationally for 2008. Valdovinos captured two top national awards: the number one sales consultant, and the number one increase in sales from 2007 to 2008. Even though many businesses have cut their marketing budgets in this turbulent economy, Nimlok Chicago was once again the Nimlok Company top performer. Managing Partners Peter Crouch and Deborah Venable took over the struggling trade show exhibit building business over a decade ago, and grew Nimlok Chicago into the successful, award winning design firm it is today. Crouch and Venable attribute their exhibit firm's consistent success to three principals and offer these "Top Tips for Staying on Top":
Focus on the big picture, it's big enough to keep you occupied. Don't get caught up in minutia and micromanaging. Empower your team to make their own decisions.
Avoid negativity like the plague. Hire like minded talent with positive attitude. Turn mistakes into success stories by looking at mistakes as genuine learning opportunities
Listen, and listen closely to your clients. Go to great lengths to thoroughly understand your client's goals, needs and budget. Then deliver.
"We have a brilliant, award winning team that focuses on truly creative exhibit solutions for our clients," explains Crouch. "We've always provided superb service in both good times and not so good times, and our clients know we are secure, stable and solid." "Our clients are still looking for the best value, they always have and always will," adds Nimlok Chicago Managing Partner Deborah Venable. "In these hard times, no one wants to look like they had to cut their budget and with Nimlok we have creative solutions for any situation." As a leading full-service trade show exhibit provider, Nimlok Chicago delivers award-winning and cost-effective custom and custom modular exhibit design, production, event planning and production, and support services all around the world. As part of the Nimlok international network of 200 partners in 56 countries, Nimlok Chicago not only shows you where to go and what to do, but also goes there with you and does it for you. Nimlok Chicago designs it, builds it, ships it, installs it, dismantles it, and stores it. Chicago Auto Show |
This past February the Sho-Link Chicago crew set the Bridgestone Tire booth at the Chicago Auto Show. The crew was led by Mike DeGiacomo and the set-up team included Brian Roberts, David O'Keefe, Tony Boerema, Matt, Jake, and Troy. John Fricke of Derse says, "Thanks to the entire Sho-Link team for helping to make the Chicago Auto Show a success. Our friends at Hakuhodo, Bridgestone-Japan, and Bridgestone Americas were extremely happy with how everything came together, the attention to detail, implementation at show site of their activities, and support throughout the show, including Terry Hogan's special touch in the strong relationship we have with our friends at Bridgestone Americas."
The delicate interactive displays that were installed and the assistance in coordinating the special daily events within the exhibit attracted a wide range of audience and contributed to Bridgestone's success. The Bridgestone exhibit was regarded by media and press as the most beautiful exhibit at the Chicago Auto Show.

Aon at the RIMS Show in Orlando |
The RIMS Show was held this past April in Orlando, FL. John Fricke of Derse says, "Thanks to Gino Kopel, Jim Streicher, Steve Hawkins, and the Sho-Link Orlando (and Tampa/St.Petersburg) team for making the Aon exhibit and special event during RIMS a success! Not only was the Aon corporate staff and upper management impressed, but their eSolutions group was amazed at how the emergency situation was taken care of by Sho-Link on the Sunday night before Monday opening, when their existing supplier could not deliver. The dedication to get everything accomplished in time and in a quality manner made a big impression on their new division and was so important to help us expand our business. Thanks again to everyone and I look forward to our next opportunity in Orlando soon."

Recent Customer Testimonials |
"This year we were faced with some tough challenges in the 2 weeks planning time we had for CTIA 2009 for Samsung. Along with that came substantial cut back in budgets given to us by the client. With your dedication and commitment, we were able to pull it off successfully and we appreciate your efforts. I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you in this extreme effort put forth as a team, maintaining professionalism during this very stressful time and executing a product that met our quality standards and most importantly Samsung. Again, you are valued as a partner and appreciated. We look forward to working with you in the future and please pass this on to those that worked hard behind the scenes." Mark McLain, Derse
"I need to take a moment to tell you about the great set up experience we just had in Orlando for the ACC show. The client was eCardio and the exhibit was a 20 x 30. The booth had been set before but not this smooth. The lead, Steve Allibone, was knowledgeable and kept the project moving forward. His crew of Drew Drullinger and Steve Mott were attentive and knowledgeable as well. Each of the guys I worked with understood the importance of not only meeting the estimated hours but exceeding both Derse and eCardio quality expectations. These guys were more than willing to do whatever was asked of them to ensure a successful set. Job well done.", Tom Steng, Derse
" I wish to pass on this compliment to Victor Tadefa and his crew who assisted with Baxter's booth at ABA in San Antonio. Victor provided exceptional service, provided constant communication and was able to resolve all of client's concerns at this show." , Paul Quay, Hamilton Exhibits "Just wanted to pass on my gratitude for a project executed to perfection by Jim Genzano and Stan Johnson from your Southern California office. Due to recent workforce reductions among many of our clientele, our client contacts have changed and new relationships are being formed. Jim and Stan really helped Hamilton to build a solid foundation today for a new relationship with a long time client.
The exhibit was simple. A 10' pop-up in a hotel with a 4-panel graphic mural. However, against my advisement, the client decided to arrange for show labor to set-up their exhibit. This morning I received an e-mail from my client insisting that we had made the graphic mural incorrectly because there were gaps, creases and folds in places there shouldn't be. Our production staff insisted the exhibit was perfect when shipped. Well, I'm in Indy and the show is in San Diego. I needed some personal attention for my client fast. I spoke to Jim about having someone go to the booth to try to fix what had been done by the careless show labor. Without hesitation Jim took the address and went to work. Jim called me back within 2 hours and let me know that Stan had confirmed the pop-up was set-up incorrectly, the carpet was wrinkled and crooked and the power was ran in such a way that the client had to stand on chair each morning and evening to turn the lights on and off. Beyond, the update Jim also let me know that Stan had already corrected all of these problems and that the exhibit was now show ready. Wow, all before the show opened this morning!
This afforded me the opportunity to shine in the face of adversity and further entrench the trust I am building with my client. Thank you Sho-Link for being true professionals and for going the extra mile for us!", Jeff Hinson, Hamilton Exhibits
"I wanted to send you a note thanking the Sho-Link- Chicago team for a fantastic job at the AHR. It was one of those shows that when you arrive the carpet has not been laid yet and your truck is still stuck in the marshalling yard. But... Ron Austwick & Tony Boerema got everything back on target the next day and managed to finish the job in record time. The client was most impressed with the Sho-Link team. Thank you for the great support we receive in Chicago!", Shannon Zoltek, ICON Exhibits
