KCSARC 's Deputy Executive Director DeAnn Yamamoto and Legal Advocate Kaye Richardson will be riding in the Lake Washington Chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse Annual 100-Mile Ride on Saturday, April 30th. If you've been to KCSARC's breakfast or luncheon, you may have seen members of BACA in attendance. They are great supporters of KCSARC's work with victims of sexual abuse and we are happy to support them in raising awareness about child abuse.
BACA receives referrals from organizations, like KCSARC, who work with children who have been abused. When a child becomes a part of the BACA family, they are supported by BACA members in any way that is needed. BACA members make a presence in the child's home and neighborhood, join them at court, and maintain a therapy fund to ensure that the child has access to the help they need no matter their family's financial circumstance. Their mission is to create a safer environment for abused children and empower them to not feel afraid of the world in which they live.
Kaye rides because she has seen BACA members make a significant difference in cases where the child or teen is afraid because of intimidation or harassment by an offender. She says it's awesome to see a child who was timid and frightened become bubbly and outgoing once BACA has become a part of his or her life.
Join Kaye, DeAnn and BACA at 12 noon (kickstands up) to bring attention to child abuse. Riders of all levels are invited to participate and there is no registration fee. The ride will start at Sound Harley-Davidson in Marysville and follow a predefined route to Downtown Harley Davidson in Renton for a celebration including food, entertainment and ride memorabilia. Non-riders are welcome to join in the after-ride festivities. Click
