On Saturday June 26th the Dining Room Restaurant will hold The Great Estates wine makers' dinner. A stand-up reception is followed by a 5-course paired dinner expertly crafted by Executive Chef Travis Hansen, Chef de Cuisine Gordon O'Neill and Pastry Chef Keith Tran.

Another whirlwind planting season has come and gone, bulbs are ordered for next spring and here we are again enjoying our new and improved summer display. It's amazing how each season flows into the next and we sometimes find ourselves at the next stage of the gardening cycle wondering where the time went.

I want to change my focus this time around when writing about a feature plant and choose something more unique and unusual (some even say grotesque!). I wouldn't go quite that far because there is something quite captivating about this ancient conifer that entices many of our visitors to photograph and ask questions about it..

In support of many talented artisans living in our area, The Gallery is open in the Visitors Center featuring art for the home and garden. Look for unique metal-art, statues and glass works to enhance your home and garden. Come in to see new additions to The Gallery including local artists such as Jack Willoughby, with his unique ironwork designs. The strength and simplicity of his work makes them fit equally at home in the house or outside in the garden.

Year round School Discovery Walk worksheets guide students through four key areas: the Sunken Garden, the Totems, the Japanese Garden and the Italian Garden. The Discovery Walk program supports the BC Ministry of Education Science Curriculum. Great for ESL students too.

With our Family Discovery Walk parents (or grandparents!) and kids can explore The Gardens in a whole new way by discovering our history, drawing pictures and learning lots of fun facts.
