TONY DENISON
as Lt. Andy Flynn
Born Anthony John Sarreo in Harlem, NY
to Sicilian parents, actor Tony Denison has essayed tough guys as well as
sympathetic urban characters for more than a decade on TV and in Feature Films.
He used the profits from his own construction company to pay for his college
education and after graduation moved back to NYC. A chance encounter put him in
a touring theatre group and after stage productions in New York - some of which he also
produced. He went on to appear in "The Great Escape II: The Untold Story" and
replaced an injured Ken Wahl on episodes of the "Wiseguy". He began to earn romantic leads with "I Love You Perfect", opposite Susan Dey
in the series "Under Cover" in which
he and Linda Purl were married spies. He
has a leading role in John Sayles' "City
of Hope" and in the miniseries "Jackie
Collins' "Lady Boss".
With Broadway credits under his belt, Tony
Denison made his momentous television debut starring in producer/director
Michael Mann's drama Crime Story. As Ray Luca, he received a
fistful of kudos, including recognition from Time as television's best
villain of the 1980s.
Since then, Denison has appeared in more than
two dozen films, with Art of Revenge, Joel Bender's independent feature
"Deadly" and "The Effect"
opposite Charles Dutton, being the most recent. He also has amassed an
impressive list of television appearances, including on "CSI", "Criminal Minds", "Boston Legal", "The District", "J.A.G.", "Cold Case", "The O.C"., "ER" and "Charmed".
Denison had a
recurring role in the drama series "The D.A." and was a series
regular on ESPN's first scripted series, "Playmakers", as the Coach. In 2006,
he was cast in the recurring role of the Dad, on "Prison Break". Currently you can watch him in his portrayal
of Lt. Andy Flynn on the critically acclaimed "The Closer".
