As we are approaching Recovery Month 2010, we are excited to be hosting the 1st Annual Vermont Soberfest- on September 18th at the Barre Auditorium- as our Recovery Month Event. We look forward to embarking on a new tradition, and we would like to welcome everyone to come out in support of long- term recovery and substance-free recreation. Please contact us if you're interested in volunteering, performing, exhibiting and/or sponsorship.
Also, during Recovery Month, we will be holding two trainings, a Clergy Training- on September 1st at the Capital Plaza in Montpelier, and a training on Problem Gambling and Co-Occurring Conditions- in Rutland, the 1st in our upcoming ARTS Training Series for Fall 2010. Please contact us to register, and for more information.

Clergy Training

You are invited to a day of learning and resources: Understanding the Impact of Addiction and Supporting Recovery: Strategies and Tools for Clergy and Other Congregational Leaders. The training will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Governor's Ballroom at the Capital Plaza, 100 State Street in Montpelier. VADIC Direct Outreach Sessions
FOR-VT & VADIC Outreach Coordinator, Rita Johnson, will be setting
up presentations and website tutorials on the VT Alcohol & Drug
Information Clearinghouse (VADIC) and its services. Based on
interest/need, Rita will travel to area(s) of Vermont to interact with
centers, coalitions, providers, schools, etc., educating staff on

Sessions will begin this Fall. The goal is to set up a series of sessions in each area of Vermont (i.e. local coalitions, recovery centers, treatment centers, schools, etc.), so as to bring information and services to as many professionals as possible.
