Remember back in high school when everything was so familiar? You knew everyone's name, from the football jocks to the detention rats. It was all so much easier back then, wasn't it? You took classes with kids you've known since you learned addition and subtraction and gossiped with your best friends in the locker room after hockey practice. Peer Facilitators- facilitate focus groups, discussion groups and other educational activities in your region. Recovery Community Centers have been established for the provision of recovery support services in Vermont. Recovery centers are local, consumer driven, non-residential facilities which provide peer support, sober recreation activities, volunteer opportunities and community education. They are located in Barre, Bennington, Brattleboro, Burlington, Middlebury, Rutland, Springfield, St. Johnsbury, and White River Junction. Free Online Training Videos on Resiliency and Recovery. Magellan has partnered with national experts in behavioral health recovery and resiliency to offer 10 free e-courses for providers, consumers, family members and other stakeholders. These trainings are free of charge and were developed in collaboration with Recovery Innovation, Child Family Support Services, the Family Involvement Center, and consumers and family members. Providers can receive one CEU hour per completed course by completing the Continuing Education Evaluation survey that follows the course. The courses cover strategies for effectively applying the principles of hope, choice, empowerment and education to achieve individual behavioral health goals. The Military, Family and Community Network will be having another conference on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008 at the Vermont State House in Montpelier from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The conference will be held in conjunction with the state's annual medal presentation ceremony, where the Governor and Adjutant General will present veterans with medals in honor of their service. There will be no conference fee.
