The 5 "W"s of "BRAND"
(AND ONE "H")
Paying Attention to Your Brand: Your BRAND is your promise, your handshake, your reputation, your "method of operation". Your BRAND sets you apart from your competition.
How do your clients describe you and your business?
- WHO: Who is your customer? Who do you WANT your customer to be?
- WHAT: What are you REALLY selling? What need are you fulfilling?
- WHEN: When can your customers reach you? When can you reach your customers?
- WHERE: Where do your customers find you? Internet? Storefront? Where do you find your customers?
- WHY: Why do your customers want to do business with you? Why did your start your business?
- HOW: How often do you and your customers interact? How do you set your business apart from/ahead of your competition?
What is your BRAND PROMISE? Do you leave a positive or a negative BRAND impression?

The 5 "P"s of
"WHAT MATTERS"
Paying Attention to What Matters: Over the years, the businesses that SURVIVE downturns in the economy and THRIVE when other companies are merely surviving are those that pay attention to WHAT MATTERS.
What does your business pay attention to?
- PEOPLE: Do you listen to your employees? Do you listen to your customers? Are you a family-friendly workplace?
- PURPOSE: Why are you in business? What is your "big picture? Do you have a personal mission as well as a business mission?
- POSITION: How do you set your business apart from/ ahead of your competition? What are you doing that is "bigger, better, faster, smarter . . . etc.", than your competition?
- PROMISE: What do you promise your customers? What do you promise your staff? What do you promise yourself?
- PROMOTION: How do your promote your business, your brand? Do you support non-profits and/or other significant causes? Do you give as-much-as or more than you are receiving?
What MATTERS to you . . . to your staff . . . to your consumer?

Building a Strong Brand Foundation
Building your brand begins with three C's. Each are dependent upon the other, and each grow exponentially as you develop the others. Fail at one, and the other two "wobble".
- Your CREDIBILITY is built upon client trust in you, your product and your promises.
- Consumers like to know what to expect - and when. Quality, Price and Service rule. CONSISTENCY in what you offer defines your BRAND.
- Creating a CONNECTION with your consumer through your marketing message and product performance rounds out the 3rd leg of your triple promise.
As you build your BRAND, you strengthen each of the three C's, creating a strong business foundation. As you build your credibility, your consistency and your client connections, you solidify your BRAND. How are YOU building your Brand Foundation?
