MISSION CORNER
In late July, Christine from Viet Nam sent this email: "Just a quick email to ask for your prayer support. (edited) While visiting a friend in another city, riding on her motorbike, two young men on another motorbike came from behind and grabbed my handbag from between us. Normally I wrap the strap around my wrist but on this occasion my guard was a bit down and I was just holding my bag. I don't know if this was my downfall or what protected me, but I was very thankful that neither my friend nor I was hurt.
PLEASE PRAY FOR MY PASSPORT TO BE FOUND. Foreigner's papers are often tossed or given to people in the neighborhood, my friends tell me, since these are probably not professional thieves and having foreigners' papers on you is dangerous. My friends will post "lost documents" signs in the neighborhood and we are hopeful of finding my passport and VN driver's license. Last night my friend and I memorized Zephaniah 3:17 - "The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives you victory." We claimed God's victory.
PRAISE GOD FOR ANSWERED PRAYER. I just wanted to let you know the answer to our prayers. I was at work today when my roommate called to say I had received an envelope by express mail from that city. She opened it and inside was my passport and all personal documents. Yay!!!! Praise the Lord. I am so thankful for this miracle. Now I can continue on with my work permit as planned, uninterrupted."
