Prayer Ministry

Praying Hands

Praying for and with those with illness, needs, praise, support, travel, charities and other requests.  Our JC Prayer Chain is always available for prayer requests.

 

Prayer requests may also be made on the attendance pads or prayer cards found in the pews. Place the prayer card in the offering plate or hand it to an usher as you leave. You can also dial the church office and select extension #49 to leave your prayer request.

 

If you wish to participate in prayer for others, please contact Helene Croucher, Jim Landua or Brenda Wood.

Eyeglasses

Old eye glasses and glass cases are being collected in a box in our church office. These glasses will be cleaned and measured for their prescription and then taken overseas by various medical groups to pro-vide the poor of the world  with eye glasses. For many of the recipients, this will be a chance to see again after many years of difficulty. Contact Carol Hall or Gail Palmer if questions. The church office is open Sunday mornings and Mon thru Thurs, 9-5.

The mission of the Twin Lakes Food Bank is to share God's love by uniting and mobilizing the community to provide food, clothing and support to those in need.

 

Powerhouse Ministries Powerhouse

To bring hope and healing to people who are homeless, in crisis, and those living in at-risk, low-income communities. We strive to provide a secure and healing environment that encompasses physical, spiritual, and emotional safety for all who seek sanctuary within the Powerhouse community.

Session Notes

July 19th Meeting

  • There are 77 kids involved in the VBS program many of which are kids whose parents do not belong to the church.
  • There will be a congregational meeting on July 31, 2011 after the 10 o'clock service for the electing of members to serve on the Nominating Committee.
  • Robin Galbreath reported that there are 117 people signed up for the all church retreat at Calvin Crest on September 2 -5. There is still room for more and you can register online.
  • Discussion was held regarding the actions to be taken by Journey Church as related to language contained in the amendment 10A to the Book of Order. Session is preparing a letter that will be sent to all members that will specify the recommendations of the Session.

The minutes of each Session meeting must be approved by the Session at the next Session meeting. Once approved, the minutes are made available to the congre-gation in the church office.
