Mission Corner
As you do your spring cleaning or maybe spring refurbishing, buying some new furniture etc. LET'S REMEMBER ABOUT FURNITURE FOR FAMILIES. Jan Voy, Director, states that while volunteering for Twin Lakes Food Bank, she learned that many of the clients had needs beyond food and clothing. When they finally get some shelter, they have nothing to put inside - no beds or bedding, no tables and chairs, no living room sofa and no way to obtain these items. God laid this need upon her heart and thus began FFF.
How can we help? When we replace our items, we frequently do not know what to do with the old. Well, there is a place. Beds, tables and chairs,
dressers, sofas and cribs, even mattress sets and bed frames as well as bedding and towel sets are of great need. Just contact Furniture for Families (916) 635-0664 or go to their website: furnitureforfamilies.org
Since they opened in May 2001, FFF has given away over 13,500 pieces of furniture to more than 1,500 families. |
