Long Grove's Annual Chocolate Fest May 4, 5 & 6 

 

Long Grove's many shops and special vendors are waiting for your visit with chocolate-themed items and our restaurants are geared up with chocolate inspirations as well.

 
Back by popular demand, Long Grove invites you to enjoy the annual Long Grove Chocolate Fest, held on the first weekend of May. You and your family can fill
a day - or a weekend - with chocolaty treats, live music, great food and distinctive shopping in charming Long Grove. Enjoy chocolate demonstrations and workshops, wine parings, live music all over town and plenty of children's activities. 

Discover beautiful gardens, trendy shops, art galleries, and one-of-a-kind restaurants.

You can even stroll Long Grove's signature covered bridge and admire the centuries-old buildings that now house our modern shops.

 

Besides exceptional dining various village restaurants, other favorite foods will be available at dozens of outdoor tents, ranging from delicious sandwiches to smoothies. 

 

Food booths are open from 10 am to 6 pm, and Long Grove's restaurants are open well beyond Fest hours. Grab a beer at the Beer/Brat tent and enjoy the live outdoor entertainment!

Buffalo Grove's 

Battle of the Bands 

 

Age: 12 - 21 years
Date: Saturday, May 5
Time: 4 - 10 p.m.
Fee: $40
 

  

The Friends of the Parks Foundation presents Battle of the Bands! It's an all day competition held at Ivy Hall School. Band members must be between the ages of 12 - 21, with half the band's members being no older than 19. In addition to receiving a recording demo session at 2BU Studios in Lincolnshire, the winning band will also get a spot to compete in a regional competition in July. 

 

The winner of the regional competition will compete in a statewide competition at the Illinois State Fair in August. A sound system will be provided; however, band members must supply all musical instruments. Rules and regulations apply. For more information, contact Erika Strojinc at (847) 850-2133.

 
Buffalo Grove's Bow WOW Event

Location: Happy Tails Dog Park

 

The Bow WOW Event is an event for dogs and their families to visit the park and will include an expo of dog-related businesses, as well as activities, fun and a lot of playful pups.

 

If you own a dog-related business and would like to exhibit at the Bow WOW Event, please contact Kim Cashmore at the Buffalo Grove Park District at kcashmore@bgparks.org or (847) 850-2108.  The fee for exhibit space is $50.

 

The Happy Tails Dog park is located south of the detention basin on the south end of the expanded commuter parking lot at the Sidney Mathias Metra Train Station in Buffalo Grove.

 

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Buffalo Grove Friends of the Parks Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
