"Great place, Great hunt, Can't wait to come back!!! Casey was a great guide with the knowledge to put us on GIANTS. Meals couldn't have been any better, can't wait till next time.

- Kris Mcdermott

"WOW!! This was my second trip and once again had a great hunt. The Lodge has great food and everything is excellent, but the people makes me want to come back. My guide is the best guide I have ever had and Matt was always checking with us to make sure everything was going good. Already re-booked for next year. And did I mention I killed a big 8 pt. Thanks!"

2012 Season is Closing In
Whitetail Summer Newsletter

I hope this newsletter finds you in a nice cool place. After a hot dry summer we are finally getting the rain we needed. The food plots are starting to green up and the bucks are looking healthy with some real nice sets of antlers running around.
We still have 2012 spots  available if you haven't booked a hunt yet you're not to late. Following are some helpful tips to make sure you have a more successful and safer hunting season.

Archery Practice - Time to Double Down

As a young man who was fascinated by archery I could always find the time to shoot my bow.  It did not matter the time of year or the weather outside I just loved shooting.  This eventually led me to shooting competitively in the summer months as a teenager.  Many weekends were spent with buddies piled up in pick-up trucks or mother's vans headed to 3D shoots around the state.  As I got older my desire for competition decreased and so did the time that I had to dedicate to the sport.  Archery double down>>

Creek Bottom Bucks

We have all heard of river and creek bottom bucks. We've heard the "big" bucks like to hang out in these drainages. We often talk about deer crossing creeks in certain spots and setting up our ambush spot somewhere on either side of the creek. But what I mean by "Creek Bottom Bucks is neither of these two situations>>

Getting Stand Locations Finished

stand hanging

As the Illinois whitetail deer hunting season is getting close and some state's hunting season are opening in a couple of days. It is time to make sure your stands are up and ready. By in and ready I don't mean "yeah they are still in the same tree I hunted them in last year so it should be fine".  Safety and shooting lanes need to be checked before opening morning in the stand>>>.

I wish everybody a successful and safe hunting season in 2012. If you still need a spot to hunt in 2012 we still have  hunts available. Please check out our website for further details, including special hunts with Cheyenne Bardwell From Ax Men and our promo week with Sitka.
