Grand Central District To Host
1st Annual St. Pete Oktoberfest

ST. PETERSBURG- The Grand Central District Association, located on the west end of downtown St. Petersburg, will be hosting the city's first major Oktoberfest beer street festival on Saturday, October 9th, 2010 from 4pm-11pm. Tickets will be $25 in advance and $30 at the gates; the event is for adults 21 and up.

The Oktoberfest Celebration is the first of its kind for the Grand Central District and for the City of St. Petersburg. Remaining true to the local flavor and historic charm of the neighborhood, the 1st Annual Oktoberfest will feature beer tastings from local and regional craft breweries, live entertainment, as well as food from local restaurants and vendors. Opportunities are still available for sponsorship and
vending.

Jim Longstreth, President of the Grand Central District Association (GCDA), is
looking forward to welcoming old friends and new visitors alike to the Grand
Central event. "This district is an entertainment destination for anybody who
appreciates a great selection of quality restaurants, craft beer and cider, and artisan crafts and art galleries. The options are endless. I'm looking forward to this exciting event and sharing everything our community has to offer Tampa Bay," said Longstreth.

Founded in 2000, the pedestrian-friendly Grand Central District is a Main Street
Community located in the heart of the picturesque Historic Kenwood neighborhood.  Surrounded by Arts and Crafts-style bungalow homes that have been restored to their turn-of-the-century charm, Grand Central District is home to many beloved local restaurants and bars, antiques dealers, art galleries and studios, and other local businesses.
