St. Petersburg, FL- July 30, 2009 - Aftershock Productions and Producing Artistic Director Michelle "Pippy" Tolan bring the exciting and intoxicating sounds of the Percussion Group, Repercussion, to the newly restructured Green Market and Street Fair being held on Sunday, August 2nd from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM and the first Sunday of the Month thereafter. The group performs traditional and non traditional beats from around the world, with a taste of the unconventional using many different types of instruments including drums from all over the world, cowbells, tambourines, blocks, buckets, even spoons. The rhythms are smooth, and sometimes funky, packing a lot of power and inspiration to all that are in earshot. Repercussion is a percussion group under the umbrella Aftershock Productions which includes many other forms of entertainment including dancers, hula hooping, stilt walking, juggling, and a very large spectrum of fire performers including fire breathing, poi and staff spinning, fire eating and anything else that can be caught on fire and danced with. We are a family of performers that oftentimes intermingle with each other to offer very unique and unexpected entertainment. We specialize in large and small scale shows. The Repercussion performers' experience is vast and world wide from gigs in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Georgia, North Carolina, India, Cambodia and the UK. The group has come together in the Tampa Bay area and regularly plays at the Treasure Island Drum Circle, The Davis Island Drum Circle, The Dunedin Brewery, as well as accompanying fire shows regularly in the area and all over the United States, including Alchamy, Pre-Heat, Afterburn, Transformus, and the Burningman festival held in the desert in Black Rock City in Nevada each August. "Playing is our life, not performing." Said Artistic Director Michelle Tolan. "Whether we are spinning fire, hula hooping or rocking the house with our rhythms, we are creating peace within ourselves that I hope translates to the people around us." Performances: Sunday, August 2nd, 2009 11:00AM - 3:00PM Contact: Michelle "Pippy" Tolan 213-841-6561 mtolan@mindspring.com
