Greetings!

Welcome to our fall edition of Tough Cookie News!
 
Triathlon season is not quite over yet. With the Austin Triathlon still to come and the IronStar and Long Horn Ironman 70.3 in late October, our triathlon team is still hard at work. However, with labor day around the corner, we know it is time to get our running shoes ready for running season! So ladies, start your engines!
 
This fall we are offering our popular Marathon, Half Marathon and Intro to Running  training programs. For our non-running friends or anyone wishing to improve her cycling skills, we are offering Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Intermediate Cycling Performance classes this fall. And to compliment your training whether you are a runner, cyclist, triathlete or certified couch potato, we are offering our Tough Cookie X-Training classes every Tuesday and Thursday to whip you into shape!

Then come visit our booth at the Austin Triathlon Expo on Sunday, September 5 from 10am-6pm at the Hyatt Regency Hotel downtown Austin. Austin Marathon Training - (Starts September 8, 2010 )
This
24-week training program prepares you to run the Austin Marathon. Our goal is to get you across the finish line injury-free and with a smile on your face whether your goal is to just finish or to break 4 hours. To join this group you should be able to comfortably run/walk 6 miles (at any speed). Registration Fee: $350 ($325 for returning tough cookies)
 
Half Marathon Training - (Starts September 8)

This 24-week training program prepares you to run the Austin Half Marathon or the 3M Half Marathon in its entirety or as part of a two-person relay team with each person running approx. 10K. To join this group you should be able to comfortably run/walk 3 miles (at any speed). Registration Fee: $350 ($325 for returning tough cookies)
 
Intro to Tough Cookie Running - 6 weeks (Starts September 8)
Join our 6 week intro program and get ready to increase your endurance, stamina, and speed. Learn proper running technique and training principals. There is no minimum fitness level and walkers are welcome! Registration Fee: $150 ($125 for returning tough cookies)
 
Meeting Dates and Locations
  • Wednesday 9:30-11am Zilker Park/Saturday 7am Town Lake
  • Wednesday 6-7:30 pm Anderson High Track/Saturday 7am Town Lake
If you are training for a different marathon that takes place during the months of december-march, you are welcome to join our program and you'll received a personalized schedule based on your marathon date.

Cycling Performance Classes

Beginner Cycling Performance Clinic (2 sessions, 2 hours each session) - Starts September 14 
Learn to take control of your bike and develop basic cycling skills. Enhance or develop such skills as bike handling, gearing, riding on city streets, balance, smooth pedaling, braking, basic hill climbing or increasing speed.   
 
Tuesday and Thursday 6pm
Registration Fee: $100 ($80 Returning Tough Cookies)
Intermediate Performance Cycling Program (6 Sessions, 1 hour/session) - Starts  September 21
Improve your cycling skills with this technique focused class for intermediate riders! Each one hour workout will be an intense interval workout covering cadence, hill climbing or speed drills.
Tuesdays 6:15pm
Registration Fee:$150 ($125 Returning Tough Cookies)
NEW! Advanced Intermediate Performance Cycling Program(5 Sessions, 1 hour/session) - Starts  September 23
Each one hour workout will be an intense interval workout with hill climbing or speed drills. The workouts are tougher and the hills are bigger and/or longer this time.
Thursdays 6:15pm
Registration Fee:$125 ($100 Returning Tough Cookies)

Want to get in shape?

If you are looking to get in shape and don't know where to start these programs are a great option. We combine cardio, strength and flexibility training for a head to toe workout that will give you the results you seek.

Already in shape?

If you are already in shape but want to improve your performance (running, cycling, triathlon, etc.) this is the perfect workout to compliment your training routine. Increase strength, agility, and performance by combining cardio, strength training, and injury prevention exercises.

Where:             Trail Head Park, Cedar Park

When:              Tuesday/Thursday 5:45am

Registration Fee

12 week program:            $250 ($225 Returning Tough Cookie)

Class card* (any 10 sessions):    $150 ($125 Returning Tough Cookie)

*Classes must be used by end of program - no refunds. Can add more classes as needed.
