Spiritual Nourishment
An inspirational quote to support you throughout the week
10/8/12

When someone is in a [emotional] sand pit and is drowning, what is the best thing you can do for them?  Stay OUT of the sand! When you join in their emotional drama or try to fix it for them, you have now just jumped in the pit with them and now you are both sinking. If you truly want to help, let them know you believe in them, and that they can figure it out on their own. Ask questions and let them come to their own solutions. Now you are holding a solid rope for them to climb when they are ready.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week, be conscious of any time you join someone in their sandpit through joining the drama, giving unsolicited advice or simply listening to the same complaint for the 10th time and notice how you feel. Then practice "standing outside the pit", trusting their innate wisdom and encouraging them to their own answers and see what happens for you and for them.  - Namaste, Michelle
Dear Coach Michelle - Supporting my candidate without feeling drained
Dear Coach Michelle,
As the Presidential election gets closer, I am having a harder and harder time staying involved without getting drawn into all the drama. I can feel my vibration drop and I feel terrible as I watch the news and the debates and get more involved. I do want to support my candidate, but am not sure how to do it without feeding the negativity of the world and feeling so drained. Help.
Sincerely, Drained by Politics
Dear Drained by Politics,
Your issue is a very common one and a very important conversation for not just the election, but for any situation where you want to stay informed and want to support something you believe in. There are three points I want to highlight here that I think may be helpful.   →Read More in Michelle's blog
