On June 25, Preservation Pennsylvania called for our members to take action on the proposal to redirect preservation and conservation funding to balance the General Fund budget.  Your calls to the General Assembly helped to eliminate the proposal and preserve PA's Growing Greener II and the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund.  Thank you. Preserve (and own) the Mead Avenue Bridge
PennDOT and the Crawford County Commissioners are seeking an interested party to acquire the National Register-eligiblStar Barne Mead Avenue Bridge.

The Mead Avenue Bridge has the unique distinction of being a bridge within a bridge: a 1912 Baltimore truss (outside) welded to an 1871 Double Whipple truss (inside). The County will transfer ownership of this bridge to any party who can relocate, restore and reuse the structure.

If your organization is interested in this bridge, please contact Tom Minnich, PennDOT District 1-0 Environmental Manager, at 814-678-7008 or David Anthony, PennDOT Architectural Historian, at 412-429-4861.
