 House Bill 42 was moved off the House Calendar last week, but is on the agenda for second consideration today (Monday, June 15) and could have final passage this week. If you have not yet had a chance to let your House Representative know about your support of HB 42, please take the time to do so today.
This legislation will provide tax credits to commercial historic rehabilitation projects and grants to homeowners for rehabilitation of private homes. Tax credits of up to $500,000 per commercial project and grants of up to $15,000 per private residence will be available to historic properties (those over 50 years of age) located in local and National Register historic districts and Main Street and Elm Street communities.
