| FUN RUN HUGE SUCCESS
What a delightful day it was! We had beautiful weather, lots of help and students in colorful t-shirts running laps to earn funds for their school. Volunteers were here helping as well as enjoying a light lunch provided to them as a thank you for all they do throughout the year. As of December 1, we have received almost $30,000 in donations. That is phenomenal! The cost of T-shirts was covered by generous sponsors. Prizes have been ordered and will soon be distributed. Our expenses are minimal --- therefore we are assured that the vast majority of this money will go right back into the school -- not to a fundraising company.
We surpassed our goal of $25,000 so Ms. White will make an ice cream sundae---easy enough---except that the ingredients will be dropped from the roof.
The orange team brought in the most total funds. The orange team consisted of the following classes:
Mrs. Smith (K)
Mrs. Boling (1st)
Mrs. Webster (2nd)
Mrs. Thompson (3rd)
Mrs. Rodriguez (4th)
Mr. Olinger (5th)
Ms. Garcia (K)
Mrs. Ramey (Path)
The orange-team teachers will enjoy a Sonic Drink once a week for six weeks and the students will get to go to Walker's Creek Park to eat lunch and play.
The student who brought in the most donations was Michael McEwen in Mrs. Lacey's first grade class. He will have a pizza party with 10 friends.
Colton Eager ran the most laps. (Eighty-four --a RECORD for WCE!)He will have lunch on the roof with Mrs. White and a friend. |

It's the Law |
| |
|
It is illegal to use a handheld cell phone in a school zone. This includes the circle drive as well as the perimeter of our building. The fine is $250. This law was enacted for the safety of children. Although we love the convenience of talking on our cell, none of us would want to endanger the life of a child by being distracted as we are picking up or dropping off our child at school.
|
DARE Graduation |
| |
|
Our fifth grade students will have their DARE Graduation on December 7 at 2:00. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
|
Playground Problem
|
|
|
|
It has been brought to our attention that children are playing on our playground when cars are entering and exiting the circle driveway. For the safety of these children we are asking that the playground be "off limits" from 3:00 - 3:30 each week day afternoon. Thank you for abiding by this rule.
