FUN RUN HOWLING SUCCESS |

The Second Annual Coyote Fun Run was a huge success. We had a beautiful day for the Run and everyone--students, parents and staff members-- had a FUN day. Walker Creek families and friends, it is through your generosity and cooperation that we are able to provide not just the absolute necessities for running a school, but also some of the extras that make school more fun and interesting.
We realize that during October and November between the PTA events and the school events we have asked for your help over and over again. It's the participation of everyone that makes The Coyote Fun Run a success. Thank goodness Walker Creek parents are so good at multi-tasking. However, we promise to do our best to not have so many events during the same month in the future. Some things are out of our control, but we will work harder when setting up the calendar to spread out the fun. We know we have a good thing going and we would never want to "burn you out" by taking advantage of your generosity.
Baylee Pucel, in Mrs. Lacey's first grade class, brought in the most donations. This helped push Mrs. Lacey's class over the top to be the winner for the class with the most donations. We had Lance Wheeler run the most laps at 79. Congratulations Lance, you did a terrific job! Eight classes brought in donations totalling over $1000 each. These classes get to eat outside with Walker Coyote on Friday. They are: Feltman, Smith, Lacey, Kozak, Thompson, Ward, Renfro and Lee.
We also want to thank the companies who helped by sponsoring our Fun Run. They are:
The Graphix Store, Sprint, James Wood Motors Inc., Clayton YES Daycare, Envoy Mortgage Co., Chick-Fil-A and Arlington Technology Group. Please let these businesses know how much we appreciate their support!
We will keep you updated as to what big items are purchased for our school with the Fun Run earnings. Thank you once again for your generosity. | |

NEW CHECK-IN SYSTEM |
We have a new check-in system at WCE! Volunteers and visitors are now required to show their driver's license (or a valid state issued ID) before receiving their visitor badge. We will scan the license once and your information will be in the system. Each time you visit or volunteer after that, stop in the office as you always have and we will print a visitor badge for you. When you are ready to leave the building, please come back through the office, turn in your dated visitor badge to us, and we will sign you out on our computer. We will also scan your license when you get your child out of school early. Once you are in the system, you will not have to bring your license in again! This will be a mandatory process at all BISD campuses beginning January 5, 2009. Opportunities to visit and volunteer on our school campus may be limited if you do not have a valid driver's license or a valid state issued ID. Our new system has the ability to provide alerts on people who may jeopardize the safety your children. Thanks so much for your cooperation and patience when checking in at the front office! |

 School Picture & Retakes |

Were you between paychecks when the orders were due for pictures? You can still purchase pictures, they just won't be here by Christmas. We will take orders for the next week and Lifetouch will come by and pick up the orders. After that, if you wish you can order them yourself through the mail or online. Our rush to have the orders by the 14th was so that those who wanted to photographs for Christmas would be able to have them in time.
If you child was absent or is new to our school they will have their picture taken on Wednesday, December 3. If you were not happy with the proof you received for your child, simply send the picture to school with your child that day and they take their picture again.. |
