It's already March! Have you resolved to do more dancing this year? It's not too late. We have more dance opportunities than ever in Tallahassee - just pick your favorite.
Our new events this month include a dance community dinner where we can get to know each other better. We'll have another Beginner-Only dance and a Free Dance Lesson. Check the calendar on our website and future emails for more details.

More Dancing on TV Set Your TiVo
"Dancing with the Stars" Returns
 Season Six starts Monday, March 17th at 8:00pm. The twelve stars this season include: Marlee Matlin, Penn Jillette, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Adam Carolla, Cristian de la Fuente, Shannon Elizabeth, Steve Guttenberg, Mario, Kristi Yamaguchi, Jason Taylor, Monica Seles and Priscilla Presley. Kenny Mayne's "DanceCenter" (think SportsCenter) is hilarious. Go to ABC's Dancing with the Stars Website to check it out!
Lifetime Television launches its first-ever dance competition series, "Your Mama Don't Dance," and turns the dance world upside down by teaming young professional dancers with one of their parents as they compete for $100,000 in cash and prizes. Premiering Friday, February 29, at 9PM (ET/PT), the eight week series is hosted by Ian Ziering and will feature three celebrity judges.

Peach State Dance Festival - Atlanta, Georgia
 This weekend a large group of Tallahassee dancers are heading to Atlanta to one of the the most popular dance events. There will be plenty of workshops, open dancing, an incredible professional show as well as competition all weekend. Local competitors include: Marion Jarnigan, Blair Johnson, Jenny Frasure, Debo Powers, Joy Myers, Terry Spear, Virgil Cross, Debbie Bass, Robert Pandofi, Julie Fredrickson, Betty Collier, Joe Whitesell and Sherri Allen. Beginner-Only Open Dance with Free Lesson
Not sure you want to hit the open dance floor yet? Feel like everyone knows what they are doing except you? Not to worry - you're among friends at the Beginner Only Dance on Saturday, March 15th. A Free Nightclub Lesson starts at 7:30 followed by open dance just for beginners until 9:30pm. (What's Nightclub? Check out this video. We won't be teaching the lifts, just the basic and a pattern!) Music will be beginner appropriate speed and each song will be announced for the type of dance. Come join the fun!
Social Dinner for Dancers
You know that guy in the Beginner Ballroom class who always wears the cool shirt? What's his name? Find out at Dinner on Saturday, March 29th at 5:00pm at Mom & Dad's on Apalachee Parkway. Here's an opportunity to meet some of the other people who dance in Tallahassee. You do not need to be a DTIB student to participate. RSVP to Karen at dancetilitburns@earthlink.net to reserve your spot soon because space is limited. (Entrees which include salad and bread start at $10.) After dinner, plan on digesting and then heading over to Arthur Murray for their Open Dance at 8:00pm!
Save the Date - Workshops and Open Dance with Guest Instructor
 Steve Edwards from Atlanta, Georgia will be at DTIB for Waltz, Cha Cha and West Coast Workshops on Saturday, April 5th. Steve is a highly regarded, award winning coach and competitor with 14 top teacher awards in both ballroom and country. Tuesdays: 7:00-8:00pm Beginner Ballroom - Cha Cha & Waltz (Cost $10)
8:15-9:15pm Intermediate Ballroom - Rumba & Swing (Cost $10)
(Come to both classes on Tuesday and pay only $15)
Thursdays: 7:00-8:00pm Intermediate Hustle (Cost $10) ($5 if you paid for Tuesday)
