In June we celebrate the feast of the body and blood of Christ, the traditionally festive Corpus Christi we call Eucharist. The gospel of Mark stresses the sacrifice of Jesus and how we all share in that sacrifice and its healing antidote when we receive the Eucharist. The power of healing and reconciliation are always present in the Eucharist, both individually for each of us before God, and the healing of all the hate, violence, and fear inflicted on the human family. This feast calls us to live lives of healing to our communities and the world. It beckons us to make difference. Never be afraid to do something new. Remember, "amateurs built the Ark; professionals built the Titanic."

Climate Justice Fund
On 31st May, the Conforti Institute was represented at the launch of Scotland's Climate Justice Fund by First Minister, Alex Salmond, and Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and also former UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
An invited audience of representatives from civil society in Scotland heard Mr Salmond say,
"The huge injustice of climate change is that it is those who have done the least to cause the problem - the most vulnerable from the world's poorest communities - who are hardest hit by it. That is why Scotland is committed to supporting climate justice and why we are launching Scotland's Climate Justice Fund.
"In launching this fund we are all too aware that one country cannot win the battle against climate change alone. Collective action is not an option but an imperative, and we need to ensure our actions and our message inspires others to act." |

African Church Dedicated to St. Guido
The St. Guido Conforti Parish is located in the City of Makeni, in northern Sierra Leone. The Diocese, was founded by the Xaverian Missionaries in 1950 under the leadership of late Bishop Augustus F. Caritas Awards
On June 2nd in Glasgow's 'Armadillo' auditorium, 450 final year high school students were presented with the first ever Pope Benedict XVI Caritas Awards to mark their contribution to school and community life. In front of an audience of over 1,500, the students will be recognised for accepting the Holy Father's challenge to bring the love of Christ into their community. Religion without Borders
"The goal of it is to bring immigrant and first generation youth together in a sort of interfaith atmosphere, and let them learn skills of debate and also share something of their own cultures and religion with each other and hopefully develop mutual respect and understanding for each other," says Kevin Childress, program associate at the Interfaith Center of New York.
