White & Co has been finding below market value properties for the last two years.  For the first 18 months, we operated primarily in North Belfast.  While we managed to purchase several properties, the super-hot market meant it was very difficult to find a vendor willing to sell at a discount.  At this stage we decided to change our strategy and seek to target an area which met our own investment criteria:

1. Slow or stagnant housing market
2. Low property prices / good yields
3. Strong local demand for private rental accommodation
4. An area that is attracting inward investment and immigration
   
5. Targetting sub-areas with capital growth potential such as regeneration areas
   
6. Within a region that already has good medium-term growth potential
   

Our research felt that within the UK, for numerous reasons, the best target region was firstly Liverpool and then the entire Northwest of England.

It was then that we decided to stop advertising in Belfast, and began to target specific areas in Liverpool - and we were met with much greater success.  Now that we have relocated Liverpool, and increased the advertising, we have found it impossible to take on all deals ourselves - and so came up with the idea to form a small and close-knit group of serious investors to work with - of which you are a founder member!
