Our School Board and IFA Bond Election is in full swing. Monday, April 26 was the first day of Early Voting.
Much has been said about teachers and education support professionals not being a factor, "since they don't vote anyway"!
Let's prove them wrong, especially in the Bel Air area were we have endorsed
Ray Mendoza as our sole endorsement in this years school board race. In a recent school ranking report on
The Texas Tribune, Bel Air ranked in the top 25% of high schools in the State of Texas and ranked as the top high school in Ysleta ISD.
We did not endorse in the other two races (Hanks & Parkland area). Here is a link to the article published in the
El Paso Times regarding the candidates.
Early Voting is going on Now thru May 4 at various locations including town hall meetings at several high schools in our district. Below is a schedule of the
YISD Town Hall meetings.
School Board elections have traditionally been won by a handful of votes, so every vote does count! Also, the YTA membership participated in a Survey regarding the support of the IFA Bond Election, and you can view the results on the
YTA website.
The membership overwhelmingly voted to support the IFA Bond Election. I encourage you to attend one of the
Ysleta ISD Town Hall Meetings to
help you address questions and concerns regarding the bond election, so
that you are fully informed.
